CHEAPEST WEBSITE BUILDERS · PRICES CHECKED AUGUST 23, 2026
Compare six low-cost ways to publish a real site. Start with the work you need, then model the initial commitment and renewal—not just the promotional number printed in the largest type.
Carrd Pro Standard has the lowest stable platform price here for a focused one-page site with a custom domain: $19 per year for up to 10 sites. For a multi-page site, Webador Lite starts lower but keeps ads; WordPress.com Personal offers a broader content path at $4 per month billed annually. Promotions from larger builders can be cheaper initially, but their commitment and renewal terms change the decision.

THE THREE-PRICE RULE
Keep all three in the same decision. A plan that wins the first receipt can lose once the promotion ends or the site needs to move.
What leaves your account today? “$2.99 per month” can mean a $143.52 four-year payment, while “$19 per year” may be exactly $19.
Add renewal, domain renewal, mailboxes, apps, storage, payment fees, and the next plan tier required by a real feature.
Count content export, image recovery, redirects, form data, DNS work, redesign, and the time needed to rebuild what the platform cannot move.
THREE PRACTICAL BUDGETS
The cheapest sensible plan changes when the page becomes a publishing system or store.
Carrd Pro Standard is unusually inexpensive when one scrolling page, a custom domain, a form, and analytics are enough. The same narrow architecture becomes a limitation when articles, product catalogs, or many indexed pages matter.
Decision: pay for a focused page, not an unused CMS.WordPress.com Personal costs more than Carrd but supports unlimited posts and pages and currently includes plugin access. Check whether the plugins and maintenance you add preserve the original cost advantage.
Decision: choose the least expensive system that still fits the next 20 pages.A store plan is not cheap if the required checkout, product limit, payment fee, shipping workflow, or email tool immediately forces an upgrade. Compare total selling cost rather than using a brochure-site plan as the baseline.
Decision: model revenue fees and operations separately from hosting.BEFORE YOU PAY
A five-minute check at checkout can prevent a cheap plan from becoming an awkward rebuild.

CHEAP WEBSITE BUILDER FAQ
Short answers to the pricing questions that most often change a “cheap” website decision.
For a focused one-page site, Carrd Pro Standard is $19 per year and supports custom domains for up to 10 sites; you still supply the domains. For a multi-page site, compare Webador, WordPress.com, Hostinger, and IONOS by commitment and renewal rather than headline price alone.
They can be free for learning or a temporary public page, but free tiers commonly use a branded subdomain, display platform branding, or restrict storage and business features. A free plan is useful when those limits are acceptable—not when the site must represent a durable business address.
The introductory period is short compared with the life of a useful site. Renewal determines the recurring platform cost, while moving later can require content rebuilding, redirects, DNS work, and lost time. Compare at least a three-year horizon.
It depends on the plan. Several builders include a domain only for the first year, while mailbox features may be separate or temporary. Confirm the exact domain extension, renewal, privacy, mailbox count, and later email charge at checkout.
Only after checking product limits, payment processing, platform transaction fees, shipping, tax, inventory, digital goods, subscriptions, email, and export. For a store, a higher subscription can be cheaper overall if it reduces selling fees or prevents an immediate upgrade.
THE LOWEST PRICE THAT STILL FITS
