SHARED PLAN · THREE MAILBOXES
Hunter Starter
$34/month equivalent$34 × 12 = $408 billed yearly. Three mailboxes are included, so the base subscription is not multiplied by three teammates. Research credits remain shared.
Independent software guidance for creators and small teams.
CONTACT RESEARCH · MEDIA RELATIONS · PARTNER PIPELINES
Start with Hunter for email research and a lightweight sequence, BuzzStream for a shared media or publisher relationship workflow, or Pipedrive for partner opportunities with owners, stages and next actions. If a shared spreadsheet and your existing inbox already do the job, a new sender is not the first thing to buy.
Official plans and documentation checked September 9, 2026. These are researched fit assessments, not hands-on vendor tests or paid endorsements. ToolMerit does not collect contacts, connect mailboxes or send messages from this page.
Do not treat an address database, an outreach workspace and a deal pipeline as interchangeable. Pick the missing layer and keep one accountable owner for each relationship. Use the separate email marketing comparison for opted-in newsletters and audience broadcasts.

| Tool | Useful when | Plan boundary | Reason to choose another layer |
|---|---|---|---|
| HunterResearch and light sequencing | You know the relevant organization or person and need to find or verify an address, then manage a small, reviewed email sequence from a connected inbox. | Free includes 50 credits/month, one connected mailbox and 500 recipients per sequence. Starter's annual option is $34/month equivalent, $408 billed yearly, with three mailboxes and 24,000 credits/year. Users share the allowance; unlimited teammates does not mean unlimited research or sending. | Your main problem is negotiating deliverables, tracking commercial stages or paying commissions. An address marked verified is not evidence that the person wants your message. |
| BuzzStreamMedia and publisher relationships | A PR or content-promotion team needs contact history, shared research, project visibility and coordinated follow-up rather than a disconnected sending list. | Starter is $49/month for one user and 500 contacts. Growth is $174/month for three users and 25,000 contacts; each additional user is $58/month. Scheduled email, automated follow-ups and team sharing are Growth features, not Starter promises. | You only need occasional manual introductions, or the core requirement is an order-level affiliate ledger with commission adjustments. Contact capacity is not a deliverability guarantee. |
| PipedrivePartner opportunity management | Partnership conversations need a visible stage, responsible person, meeting history and next action. Model the opportunity as a lead or deal instead of leaving it in one person's inbox. | The current annual USD view lists Lite at $14 and Growth at $24 per seat/month. Growth adds full email sync and nurturing sequences. Add-ons, mailbox service and taxes can increase the cost; verify your regional checkout. | You primarily need a media research workspace, or expect a won deal to calculate affiliate attribution and payouts automatically. A relationship pipeline is not a commission engine. |
Suppose three colleagues each need their own sending identity. These examples use the listed plans, exclude taxes and extras, and are not equivalent feature bundles or a recommendation to buy all three.
SHARED PLAN · THREE MAILBOXES
$34 × 12 = $408 billed yearly. Three mailboxes are included, so the base subscription is not multiplied by three teammates. Research credits remain shared.
BASE TEAM · THREE USERS
The base already includes three users. A fourth raises this example to $174 + $58 = $232/month. Budget from the team tier, not three Starter accounts with assumed Growth features.
PER SEAT · THREE USERS
3 × $24 = $72/month equivalent; $72 × 12 = $864 billed yearly. Add any separately required data, outreach or affiliate system rather than assuming it is in the CRM price.
A connected mailbox, a stored contact, a research credit and an enrolled sequence recipient are different units. None says how many wanted messages will reach an inbox. For subscriptions you already own, start with a marketing tool stack audit.
Consider a hypothetical partner contact with one campaign owner and a second colleague preparing a follow-up. A private note in the owner's inbox is not enough to stop the other colleague. The following is a recommended operating rule—not a claim that these products synchronize exclusions with each other.
Record the relevant organization, specific reason to connect, data source, responsible sender and last interaction. Resolve duplicate records before enrolling anything.
The owner records the request and its scope, then cancels the pending follow-up. The second colleague sees the same do-not-contact state before sending.
A new CSV, another campaign or a failed connector retry must not silently reactivate that contact for the same purpose. If the state cannot be checked, hold the send.
Its Inbox documentation describes unsubscribe detection within the first 100 characters of a reply, and out-of-office detection within the first 500. Detected unsubscribe requests exclude future follow-ups. Away replies can be paused and resumed by the user. Review unmatched replies yourself; a parser is not a substitute for reading a refusal.
Do Not Contact rules can block outreach to listed contacts or domains. Its unsubscribe controls also allow account-, sender-domain- or sender-address scope. Confirm the selected scope matches the recipient's request and the brand's policy; do not assume every unsubscribe automatically blocks every sender.
Sequences requires Growth or higher, with up to 10 steps and 250 lead/deal items per sequence. Automated sending requires authorization per user and per sequence. That is permission to use the sender's account—not proof of the recipient's permission. The documentation also provides manual completion for off-channel replies or opt-outs; this completion cannot be undone.
These are proposed acceptance checks, not tests ToolMerit has performed inside vendor accounts. Use inboxes you own or have explicit permission to test, synthetic records and a private pilot. Do not use real prospects to discover how cancellation works.
Keep the agreed deliverable and owner separate from a click or a “won” deal. For shared campaign URLs, use a consistent UTM naming convention; never put contact names or email addresses in tracking parameters. The subject line helper can suggest wording, but does not verify permission or send it.
THE NEXT LAYER OF A PARTNER PROGRAM
The existing affiliate-platform guide covers attribution, billing connections, refunds and payouts. It is a different decision from choosing the tool that organizes the first conversation.
