Choose the MP3 handoff.
The tool maps the first audio track and excludes video. If the MOV has no audio, no MP3 can be created.

The MOV and MP3 stay in this tab. ToolMerit does not receive the media.
Most MOV audio is already AAC, PCM, or another codec. MP3 output requires encoding; selecting 320 kbps cannot add detail that the recording or source codec does not contain.
MATCH THE AUDIO JOB
Choose bitrate by what remains after video.
Speech and notes
Interviews, lectures, screen-recording narration, and searchable reference audio.
General listening
A practical first test when voices, music, and room sound share the track.
Fewer size savings
Use for compatibility when detail matters, while keeping the MOV or a lossless master.
FIRST TRACK ONLY
Language and mix selection matter.
This focused browser tool selects 0:a:0. A MOV with alternate commentary, isolated microphones, or multichannel mixes may need desktop inspection.
- 01Preview the MOV and confirm the audible program is the one you want.
- 02Choose mono only when separate channels or spatial information are unnecessary.
- 03After conversion, check content, duration, beginning, and end before download.
MOV TO MP3 ANSWERS
What the converter does.
Does MOV to MP3 remove the video?+
Yes. The MP3 contains only encoded audio from the first audio stream. The original MOV remains unchanged on your device.
Is this a lossless extraction?+
No. Even if the MOV audio is high quality or uncompressed, MP3 encoding is lossy. Use the existing audio codec or WAV/FLAC when preservation matters more than MP3 compatibility.
What happens if the MOV has no audio?+
The tool reports that no first audio track exists and creates no output.
Should voice be mono?+
Often, but not always. Mono saves bits when both channels carry the same centered voice. Keep source channels when different speakers or ambience occupy separate channels.
Is the video uploaded?+
No. The self-hosted FFmpeg WebAssembly engine works locally in this browser tab.
